My Thoughts: Identity in Christ

(photo via www.wellhappypeaceful.com)

Recently I been given the advice that I should open up. The odd thing about it is that I couldn't understand how someone could know me for a long period of time and still feel they don't know me. It certainly wasn't the first time that request has been made then it got me wondering, how can I open up.

It would be correct to say that most know me as being the "bottled up" type but its not what I try to be but who I have become. I remember being positive and hopeful on life and somewhere between an air of unknown and the present, I've lost that vision. In Proverbs 17:22 ESV says "a joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries the bones." I remember a time of continuous joy but my feelings now reflect that of a crushed spirit.

Have you ever felt crushed, or lost? Such feelings can wreak havoc on ones mind and body. I know this all too well. For many years I have maintained an exterior resembling of the man everyone likes to see but secretly dieing on the inside.  Recently I did a post on Evolving and this I believe is the first step confessing the truth of the real me. There may be others dealing with the same burden as I and invite you to make a change with me.  But before we can change we must first identify who we are, and who we are in Christ. This is no attempt to bring about attention nor to bring on self pity. This is truth, confession and testament to evolve. For those of you who are ready to evolve and face this trial head on, I welcome you to join me as I seek to find that true man God has called me, My Identity in Christ. Be Blessed...

Encouragement:

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Philippians 3:13-14 " Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it on my own.  But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Life: Happy Thanks Giving

Well its that time of the year we set aside a day to be thankful and enjoy a lot of good meals. I am truly thankful for a lot in my life. Just the simple fact that God continues you wake me up each and every morning. Giving me the chance to live, explore and continue growing in the spirit. I am thankful for my family that continues to love and support me. I am also thankful for you, my friends that are there for me for support and motivation. I wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and good eating!

Encouragement: I Chronicles 16:34 "Oh, give thanks unto the Lord for He is good! For his mercy endures forever."

Life: 2012: My year of Evolution

With 2011 coming to a close, Im sure there are plenty that have begun writing their "new years resolutions," but why wait until then. Start now, tomorrow, heck we should of started yesterday. I have never really been one to make a list of things to do better.I just felt its a waste of time because most do not truly stick with it, but its time for change. Reflecting not only back on this year but our lives I am sure we need an infinite number of pages to jot down things we want to change.

What are some things you wish to abolish? Are you the smoker, or are you simply the person that just cant seem to get it right? We all have things that we can learn from and evolve.  The definition of evolution is A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or a better form. To become the better form is a life long process Life gives of lessons to be learned  but we can evolve, and learn from the mistakes to become a better form of ourselves.

God gives us those lessons to be learned but we must be reminded that he wont put more on us than we can handle. I will begin in prayer, asking those things which I have done wrong to be revealed to me and I urge you to reflect on those things as well. We all can strive to be a better person. Join with with me in my journey of evolution, and leave the past behind.

I leave you with this clip from the movie "Lion King" where Simba learns a lesson in leaving what he cannot change in the past. I certainly learned a lesson from it. Enjoy
